IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING PROCEDURE TEXT THROUGH STUDENT TEAM ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION (STAD)

Abstract


In conducting this research, Student Team Achievement Division is chosen to improve students’ ability in writing procedure text. The participants of this research are tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Ciomas consisting of 36 students. The data were collected from April 9th until May 1st, 2013. The methode of this research is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of two cycle processes. The pre-test shows 11% of students passed the standard score. After the treatment, the result of the first cycle shows 97% of students passed the standard score with average 80.83. The second cycle 100% of students passed the standard score with average 82.08. The result indicates that Student Team Achievement Division can improve students’ ability in writing procedure text.
