PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DICOVERY LEARNING DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS PROSEDUR KOMPLEKS PADA SISWA KELAS XI SMA PLUS PGRI CIBINONG BOGOR

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimen. Dengan menggunakan teknik tes dan angket. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana keefektifan penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis teks prosedur. Angket digunakan untuk mendapatkan informasi dan kendala yang dihadapi siswa dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks dengan menerapakan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Plus PGRI Cibinong Bogor, sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Sampel yang diperoleh adalah kelas XI Pemasaran 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah 30 siswa, dan untuk kelas kontrol adalah XI Pemasaran 2 dengan jumlah siswa 28 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, hipotesis ini dapat terbukti kebenarannya. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks. Di kelas eksperimen nilai rata-rata sebelumnya adalah 66,2 menjadi 79,33. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning mampu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks. Bukti ini juga diperkuat dengan adanya simpulan dari perhitungan perbandingan mean dengan menggunakan rumus t-tes , diperoleh  data thitung= 3,64, dan db= 56, dan diperoleh harga t00,09= 2,38 dan t harga t00,95= 1,66, dengan demikian to lebih besar dari pada tt  1,66 < 3,64> 2,38 yang berarti berada pada taraf signifikan. Hipotesis kedua dengan melihat penyebaran angket yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini terbukti kebenarannya, yaitu siswa kelas XI SMA Plus PGRI Cibinong Bogor mengalami kendala dalam keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks prosedur kompleks siswa kelas XI SMA Plus PGRI Cibinong Bogor.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to determine of the effectiveness of discovery learning model in improving students’ writing skill of complex procedural text. The instrument is used in this research are test and questionnaire. The test is used to know the extent to which the effectiveness of discovery learning model in writing procedural text. The questionnaire is used to obtain information and difficulties that faced by students in writing complex procedural text by applying discovery learning model. The population in this reseach is XI grade high school students at SMA Plus PGRI Cibinong Bogor, sample is taken by cluster random sampling. The samples obtained were class XI Marketing 1 as experiment class with 30 students, and for control class was XI Marketing 2 with 28 students. Based on the results of data analysis, the hypothesis is accepted. This can be seen from the increase in the mean score of the ability to write complex procedural text. In the experimental class the pre-test mean score was 66.2 while the post-test mean score was 79.33. This is showed that the application of discovery learning model can improve students’ writing skill in writing complex procedural text. This proof is also reinforced by the conclusion of calculation of mean comparison by using t-test formula, obtained the data thitung= 3,64, and db = 56, and obtained price t00,09 = 2,38 and t price t00,95 = 1, 66, so to is higher than tt 1.66 <3.64> 2.38 which means to be at a significant level. The second hypothesis is the questionnaire that submitted in this research proved to be true, that the students of XI grade students SMA Plus PGRI Cibinong Bogor have the difficulties in writing complex procedural text by applying discovery learning model. Based on the result of this research shows that the effect of discovery learning model in improving students’ writing skill of complex procedural text can improve students’ writing skill in writing complex procedure text at XI grade students SMA Plus PGRI Cibinong Bogor.
