AN ANALYSIS STUDY OF FACTORS INFLUENCING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING FLUENCY
Abstract
The title “An Analysis Study of Factors Influencing Students’ Speaking Fluency” is chosen to analyze factors that influence students’ speaking fluency. The research is conducted to the seventh semester students of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University. The participants of the research are the students of special class. Observation, questionnaire and interview are used to obtain the data. The observation is conducted to find out the students’ learning process at class supporting fluent achievement in speaking. 16 students are chosen to fill in the questionnaire, six students who are recommended by the lecturer and meet the fluency criteria are chosen to be interviewed. The research result shows that the factors influencing students speaking fluency are: first, they enjoy the learning process; second, they have good self-motivation; third, they have support from the people around them. Those are the main factors that have contributed to the speaking fluency.
