ANALYSIS OF ERROR MADE BY EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS IN USING REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS

Abstract


The title of this research is “Analysis of Error Made by Eighth Grade Students in using Reflexive Pronouns”. The aims of this research are to find out the types and the causes of error made by eighth grade students in using reflexive pronouns in SMP Al-Ghazaly Bogor. Descriptive method is used to conduct this research. Purposive sampling technique is used to determine the respondents of the research. The respondents are taken from several students of five classes who have the lowest score based on the students’ works. The instruments which are used in this research are students’ work, questionnaire and interview. Based on the result of the research, it is found that there are three types of error made by students in using reflexive pronouns; namely omission, addition and misinformation. Those errors are caused by lack of motivation. For all these reasons, it is suggested that students should learn and practice more about reflexive pronouns.
