AN ANALYSIS STUDY OF AN APPLICATION CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) IN BILINGUAL CLASS

Abstract


Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is one of the methods that emphasize the learning process through “constructing” not memorizing. It helps students apply what they have got into their real life. The purpose of this research, entitled “An Analysis Study of An Application Contextual Teaching and Learning in Bilingual School” is to analyze how the teacher applied CTL method in the class. The research is conducted to the teachers who teach in the fifth and sixth grade in bilingual class of SDN Semeru 1 Bogor. The writer uses descriptive method in conducting the research. Data for this research were collected trough observation, questionnaire, interview and documentation. There are eight components in applying Contextual teaching and Learning: making meaningful connection, doing significant work, self-regulated learning, critical in thinking, collaborating, nurturing the individual, reaching high standard and using authentic assessment. The teachers in the fifth and sixth grade in bilingual class are not fully applied CTL method. They only use some of components in applying CTL. The writer suggests that the teachers learn more and follow the training about CTL application.
