ENGLISH MATERIAL TAUGHT IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Abstract

The title of this research is “English Material Taught in Mechanical Engineering Department”. The aim of this research is to describe the English material taught in Mechanical Engineering Department. There is one question in this research: “What material does the teacher teach to mechanical engineering department students?” The research was conducted to the tenth grade students of SMKN 4 Bogor. The researcher used descriptive method and the data were gained from documentation, observation and interview. The documents was gained from the lesson plan made by the teacher, the book used by the teacher, and the syllabus implemented in the school. The observation was conducted to two classes of the same department. The interview was done to a teacher teaching in the two classes. In order to validate the data, triangulation was also done. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found out that the teacher taught general English material to the students.
